Dita Von Teese brought some sex appeal to the Hamptons charity circuit over the weekend.
Stripping down to little more than lace and feathers, she closed out Saturday’s Labor of Love event — which benefitted Housing Works — with a sexy burlesque performance.
A spy tells us the crowd was “surprised and delighted” as the seductress “ultimately went fully topless and danced off the stage covered only by beautiful burlesque feather fans.”
Three hundred people attended the soiree, held at “The Points Guy” Brian Kelly’s private Hamptons residence. The event is estimated to have raised over $40,000.
Boys & Girls Harbor announced that Naomi Campbell will join Keith Clinkscales and Lyor Cohen as an event chair for the organization’s Salute to Achievement on Monday, September 26th at Lincoln Center, David Koch Theater located at 20 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York City. The event will honor Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and will feature a special performance by Audra Day.
Rally Health, actor, comedian and Rally Health Ambassador Kevin Hart, and E! News host Maria Menounos hosted a free outdoor health festival, Rally HealthFest, at Nelson A. Rockefeller Park in Battery Park City, lower Manhattan a couple of weeks ago. They wanted to show New Yorkers how making simple lifestyle changes can be a lot of fun and help improve their overall health.
The New York Rally HealthFest featured fitness activities including boot camps, yoga classes, rock climbing and spin classes, as well as an interactive kids’ zone, all supported by Rally partner Asphalt Green, an NYC nonprofit. Attendees also had a chance to participate in a group workout with Ron “Boss” Everline, Kevin Hart’s personal trainer; get nutritional tips from young celebrity chef Haile Thomas; and earn prizes for participating in activities. There were be plenty of healthy eats and beverages from Juice Press. Attendees also joined Rally partner DiamondBack to help build bicycles that will be donated to Madison Square Boys and Girls Club. On August 9th, 2016 at the New York Chapter of the National Urban Fellows (NUF) hosted a one-night fundraiser at the famous Gotham Comedy Club. The event featured Comedy Central’s The Daily Show Correspondent Roy Wood, Jr. and five up-and-rising NYC based comedians: Vince Chang, Kerry Coddett, Vince August, David Suarez, Michelle Felice Hartley and Alex Barnett. The comedic all-star line up took a break from their day – for Mr. Wood Jr., his ‘night job’ at the Daily Show with Trevor Noah to head the First Annual NUF Fundraiser and Comedy Show at Gotham Comedy Club. Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation (RPAF) raised $1.25 million at its annual ART FOR LIFE Benefit on July 16th at Fairview Farms in Bridgehampton, NY. Proceeds from ART FOR LIFE benefit the Foundation’s signature arts education and gallery programs, which have directly served tens of thousands of inner-city youth over the past 20 years. Eight food, wine and spirits trailblazers came together at the legendary James Beard House in New York City for the 2nd Annual Iconoclast Dinner Experience. It was an intimate evening that celebrated the life and legacy of the late James Beard Award winning chef, Patrick Clark and honored an impressive roster of experts of color while guests took part in a gastronomic experience curated by the honorees.
The event also honored trailblazers in the culinary, wine and spirits fields while raising scholarship funds to benefit the Spelman College students from Jamaica and sub-Saharan African countries. Read The Rest
On Monday, June 13, the Beyond the Boroughs National Scholarship Fund hosted their second Annual Benefit and Awards Dinner at the Dream Downtown hotel honoring Chef Richard Ingraham and Malik Yoba. 100 supporters attended the event to raise money for the scholarship fund. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, silent auction and dinner while listening to speeches from the honorees, members of the organization and student scholars. Read The Rest
2016 Ailey Spirit Gala Benefit’s Star-Studded Party and Performance Launches Two-Week Lincoln Center Engagement
Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s 2016 Lincoln Center engagement kicked off with a star-studded Ailey Spirit Gala on Wednesday, June 8th. The one-night-only benefit performance and party, sponsored by FedEx, featured actor Anthony Anderson of black-ish and Barbershop: The Next Cut and journalist Roland S. Martin of TV One and the Tom Joyner Morning Show as Honorary Chairs. Gala Co-Chairs were Gina F. Adams, Lynne & Anthony M. Carvette, Leslie & Tom Maheras, Almaz & Marc S. Strachan and Daria L. & Eric J. Wallach, and Vice Chairs were Michele & Timothy Barakett, Dr. N. Anthony & Robyn Coles, Jaishri & Vikas Kapoor, and Pamela D. Zilly & John H. Schaefer. The evening helped raise over $1 million for Ailey’s extensive educational programs for young people, including AileyCamp and scholarships to The Ailey School. Read The Rest
