eBay and CFDA: “You Can’t Fake Fashion”

A few of our favorite designers were at The General on Monday night to celebrate their contributions to the “You Can’t Fake Fashion” campaign.  Now in its third installment, eBay asked 90 members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America to customize canvas totes to benefit the CFDA Foundation to raise awareness about counterfits and support authentic design. The custom bags, by designers including Tracy Reese, Rebecca Taylor, Zac Posen, Rachel Roy, Tory Burch, Diane Von Furstenberg and more, will be auctioned off on eBay until March 25th at 9am.  The 90 designer bags will have a starting bid of $100.

With 90 designers on board this year, each customizing a bag as one-of-a-kind to show their support, eBay and CFDA are dedicated to protecting original design and the integrity of the fashion industry,” said Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA.

“We are thrilled with the number and caliber of designers involved in the sale, highlighting the third year of our partnership with CFDA. The designers are bringing great energy and creativity to this signature campaign, which supports original design and raises awareness against counterfeits,” said eBay’s SVP for global communications, Alan Marks.

All the proceeds from the sale of the bags will go to the CFDA Foundation. You can view the entire lot on eBay.
