Suit Dreams will present its annual “Follow-Suit” event on April 5th from 6-11 at Greenhouse in New York City. This year, they’re partnering with the women of Pynkberri’s Project-Royalty Prom Drive. During the event, Pynkberri will be accepting Prom dresses for high school seniors from Baltimore, MD and New York City; while Suit Dreams will be collecting suits and tuxedos for young men in New York City.
Many high school students, living in an urban community don’t have access to the appropriate attire for Prom, Interviews, Internships and/or graduation. The reality is that the financial challenges that have plagued our nation do not allow many parents to provide their son or daughter with these essential items. The goal of this initiative is to leverage the resources of NYC’s leading young professionals to collect suit donations for this year’s Suit Dreams and Pynkberri’s students.
Guests who arrive with a suit or dress donation between the hours of 6-7 PM will receive complementary admission, beverages and refreshments.
Suit Dreams, founded by financial services professional Jerrell Horton, seeks to alter the perception of young minority males through the implementation of their four Cs concept (Civic Engagement, Confidence Building, Chivalry and Corporate Development). Their primary goal is to ensure all students in the program acquire professional attire to aide in their success in the corporate realm.
