Oscar winner, Halle Berry and fashion designer/Project Runway judge Michael Kors launched their “Watch Hunger Stop” campaign at the Four Seasons Hotel Pool Room in New York City this weekend. “Watch Hunger Stop” will provide meals to children in Africa with intentions to extend to Central America. Funds for the program will come from the sale of MK’s Runway watch ($295). One hundred meals will be provided to children for each watch that is sold – meals will be provided through the U.N. World Food Programme.
It’s so important to me, being a mom, that I can help educate women on how important it is that when you have a healthy child, it helps set them up for life,” she said. “If we can use our celebrity, I want to. I don’t want it to go waste. It would be a shame not to use it.”
Kors said of his partner. “I wanted someone talented, check. Someone compassionate to the world, a great mother, someone incredibly glamorous and chic — and who makes it all look easy.”
