On Wednesday, Google presented a 100,000 dollar Grant for All Star Code, a nonprofit organization focused on computer science education for Black and Latino young men.

Google employees also worked with the students and provided feedback on their Computer Science projects ahead of their final presentation ceremony.

Projects include a social network system for teenagers which creates discussion boards on current affairs as well as an app which streamlines college applications.

“The idea being that if there are so few particularly blacks and latinos in tech, which is the engine of job growth and innovation, how can we make this country a more equal place,” said Christina Lewis, Founder All Star Code.

The students will officially present their projects on April 11th at the All Star Code fifth anniversary kick-off celebration.
