Housing Works, New York City based non-profit, held its 15th annual Fashion for Action benefit hosted by seasoned actress, Patricia Clarkson, known for roles in movies including Six Feet Under, The Untouchables, and House of Cards. For $40 per ticket, guests had the opportunity to shop over $2 million in brand-new donated goods, which are all marked 50-70% off retail prices, while mingling with iconic members of the fashion and entertainment industries and sipping on cocktails. The shopping party took place at Housing Works’ flagship shop in Chelsea, with a VIP Cocktail Hour at Freds in Barneys Downtown.
Event Chairs included; Mickey Boardman, Patricia Field, Debbie Harry, Eric Javits, Stacy London, Todd Snyder and Alex Olson. Kevin Harter and Michael Carl served as Founding Chairs. Fashion Committee members included; Miranda Barnes, Justin Vivian Bond, Kimberly
Drew, DeVonn Francis, Bukunmi Grace, Tavi Gevinson, Casey Legler & Siri May, Maluca Mala, Luanna Perez-Garreaud, Dana Scruggs, Lyn Slater, Bevy Smith, the Vaquera team, and Wing Yau. Music was be provided by DJ Louie XIV.
Guests also got the opportunity to shop the personal wardrobe of eight Closet Curators (***** YASSS!!!*****) who put together a collection of clothing and accessories that reflect their own individual style. The Closet Curators included; international fashion and luxury lifestyle media brand, Coveteur, founder and creator of One Dapper Street, Marcel Floruss, NYLON’s Editor-in-Chief Gabrielle Korn and Fashion/Beauty Editor Jenna Igneri, Creative Director,
celebrity stylist and fashion influencer, Dennis Kenney/260 Sample Sale, Innovator Designer and Lifestyle Futurist, Jerome LaMaar, celebrity DJ and actor, Mia Moretti, Fashion Designer,
Todd Snyder, and Creative Director/Founder of The Brooklyn Circus/BKc, Ouigi Theodore.
Men’s and women’s apparel, shoes, handbags, accessories, and jewelry will be available for guests to shop and at deeply discounted prices. Some of the brands available include; Alexis Bittar, Calvin Klein, Coach, Edun, Everlane, Stella McCartney, and many more.
Proceeds from Fashion for Action support Housing Works’ mission to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS. The organization provides thousands of New Yorkers with lifesaving health services and housing. They are also leaders in national advocacy efforts to ensure social justice and healthcare for all.

Fashion for Action began in 2004 with founding chair Andre Leon Talley and the late Natasha Richardson at the helm. Past event chairs have also included Thom Browne, Patricia Clarkson, Francisco Costa, Dree Hemingway, Marc Jacobs, Natalie Joos, Derek Lam and Rachel Roy.
Together with the support of the fashion and beauty community, the benefit has grown to raise over $5 million towards the fight against HIV/AIDS in New York City.
